In science we learned about force and motion. We learned that games use forces to make objects move. To share our knowledge we had a Force and Motion Fair. We divided into groups and made games that used different types of forces. Some of the games were: Mini Soccer, Lightning Ball, Magnet Fishing, Magnetic Bowling, Balloon Rockets, Balloon Blasters and Knock Down Cups. We also wrote about what we learned and displayed it on posters. We invited our families to come enjoy our games. It was a great night of fun!

Our class went to iSpace for a field trip. During our first session we built alligators our of Legos with our partners. Then we connected it to a computer and learned how to program the alligator. There was even a motion sensor that made the alligator snap his jaw.
After lunch we built cars out of Legos with our partners. Then we let our cars go down a ramp and measured how far the cars went. We also adjusted our cars to see if we could make them go further. We had a great time on our field trip! The book I am reading is Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets. It’s about a man in his underpants fighting talking toilets. The talking toilets were created by the nerd, Melvin. I like the book because it’s about a man flying in his underpants. My favorite part was when George and Harold used Melvin’s machine and their picture came to life and beat the talking toilets. I recommend this book to people that like gross stuff and men in their underpants fighting monsters. If you like mysteries, you will love Scooby Doo and The Groovy Ghost. It’s a book about the gang finding the person who is scaring people. My favorite part is when the gang catches the person who was scaring people and the person tells them why they were scaring people away. I think second grade to fourth graders should read this Scooby Doo book. Questions: 1. Do you like Scooby Doo books? 2. Have you read Scooby Doo books? The book Radio Rescue is about a little boy that invented radio communication when telephones don’t work. The first radios used morse code which is sort of like morse light. My favorite part is when the boy did the same series of dits as the sailors then his code. I recommend this for those of you who like history. This book is about destroyers. Destroyers are fast war ships. They can go 35 knots. This book tells you about different weapons that destroyers have. Some of them are a depth charge, a guided missile, torpedoes, and ant aircraft guns. My favorite part is rebuilding destroyers. It is about rebuilding World War II destroyers. I like this part because it has a picture of a rebuilt World War ll destroyer with tracks of where it has been. This book is probably for someone who likes war. This is a hard book. It is good for 8 year old to 15 year olds. The book is The Jet Alphabet Book. It is about all kinds of planes. It tells you all about all of the jet’s names in ABC order. It also tells you all about the planes. The book tells you how fast some of them are. Read the book and find out! I really like this book because…I like the planes and there are 26 planes in this book and there are 26 letters in the alphabet. I also like military planes, but most of all my favorite planes are the really big military planes like the E-3, B-17, KC-10 and the “Hercules Flying Boat”. I would recommend this book to 7 or 8 year olds because there are some hard words in it. The person who is reading this book should like jets. |
