The second grade learned about economics by having a "market." Student/s decided whether they wanted to provide a good or service at our market. They then worked hard to produce their goods and plan the services. Signs were made and prices were determined before the market. On the day of the market Ms. Young's second grade class, along with special guests, came to our market. Our class also had the opportunity to be the consumers at Ms. Young's market. The students earned an income by following rules in the classroom. Fun was had by all! Check out these pictures!

After learning about different communities the students worked together to design a mural with all three types of communities in a region. The three types of communities were urban (city), rural (country) and suburban. The communities were near mountains, water and plains. Check them out!
