We are learning how to subtract 2 digit numbers with regrouping. Sometimes we have to borrow a ten and put it in the one's column so that we have enough to subtract. Check out our poem that helps us remember what to do!

Today we saw a puppet show at Hilltop School. We only got to see two stories. There were only two actors that played all of the parts. The first story was called The Girl and the North Wind. There was a girl, and she needed some flour so that her family could bake bread. The North Wind blew it away and she had to go find the magic cloth. The girl didn't have enough time to go home, so she stayed at an inn. The innkeeper didn't want her there because she didn't have any money. The girl made a feast, and the innkeeper stole a cloth. She replaced it with a rag. The North Wind came back to the girl and told her to find the magic stick. The innkeeper gave the girl everything back to her, and she ended up going home. She never ended up having to going to the store or being hungry again.
The second story was Aladdin. The actors picked a student to be Aladdin. The student was like a real actor. The story was just like other stories of Aladdin. There was a princess and she pretended to fall in love with the student. We really liked the puppet show. What do you think? 1) Have you ever been to a puppet show? What was it? 2) What do you like about puppet shows? 3) What would your puppet show be like if you had one? This winter we have had a lot of snow. During school when it snows we sometimes look out the window to watch it snow instead of doing our work. We have already had 3 snow days and a delay. One of the days it was because of the snow. The other 2 days were because the temperatures were close to 0 degrees. We have had more indoor recesses because of the weather. Even though we haven't gotten to go outside and play during recess at school we've had fun in the snow at home. Charley and Payton like to go sledding when it snows. He has a giant hill in the woods by his house. Ava likes to go tubing when it snows. Jon likes to have snowball fights with his friends. Jake likes to go skiing at Perfect North. Lilly likes to build snowmen. Braelynn and Avery like to make snow angels. Roxy likes to make snow houses and snowmen. We have a lot of fun in the snow! What do you think? 1) What do you like to do in the snow? 2) Does it snow where you live? 3) Would you play in the snow or work hard shoveling the snow off the driveway? 4) What do you like to do on a snow day? |
