The second grade classes at Vermont had the opportunity to talk to another second grade class in Hurricane, Utah via Skype. The classes took turns asking questions about each other's community. We learned about similarities and differences between the two communities. The differences were the climate, type of land and elevation of the communities. Hurricane, Utah is is among mountains and deserts. Their elevation is much higher than ours. They also see different animals than we do such as road runners and rattlesnakes. Our community has more grass, trees and changing temperatures. The students found out that they have many things in common, one of which is the love of ice cream! All of the students enjoyed learning about a class across the country.
What do you think?

2) What things did you have in common with the children from Utah?
